About
Vic High Reads is in its third year. It was inspired by CBC's Canada Reads -- an annual event designed to build reading culture by inspiring Canadians to read and talk about a shortlist of "must-read" Canadian books. Vic High Reads aspires to these goals but applies a different structure than Canada Reads.
During first semester, the student-driven Top Shelf Book Club will be invited to preview books from long-listed titles that related to this year's theme: Inspiration. Through first term, the book club will develop a short list of 12 titles that will be presented to second semester English classes. Each class will then select one title to defend at the Battle of the Books.

Kick-off Assembly: Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020
Battle of the Books: Tuesday, May 12, 2020
